Podcast: Harnessing the Power of Nonviolence to Reorganize Power

PBI and Nonviolent Peaceforce collaborated to produce a podcast for the 7th edition of the Geneva Peace Week (2-6 November 2020). The podcast focuses on how to harness the power of nonviolence through protective accompaniment in peace building, with inputs from both executive directors and non-profit organizations and practitioners in the field.

The Podcast features

  • Katia Aeby: As Executive Director of PBI Switzerland, Aeby holds a Licentiate in Social Anthropology and a Master in Development Studies. Before joining PBI Switzerland 2012, she worked as a human rights observer with PBI in Guatemala and collaborated with several human rights organizations.
  • Faith Kasina: She is Co-founder and coordinator of the Kayole Social Justice Centre as well as Co-convenor of the Social Justice Centre Working Group in Nairobi, Kenya. Kasina was born and raised in Kayole. The injustices she witnessed growing up in her hood stirred a passion in her to be a voice that speaks against injustices and abuse.
  • Tiffany Easthom: Having been involved with Nonviolent Peaceforce for 11 years, she is now the Executive Director. Easthom started up and ran their mission in Sri Lanka, South Sudan and Lebanon. Prior to joining Nonviolent Peaceforce, she engaged in peace, conflict and development work in South-East Asia and Latin America.
  • Maral Khajeh: She is a Dutch/Iranian human rights lawyer and peace activist. Khajeh has been with Nonviolent Peaceforce South Sudan since 2018, coordinating the Civic Engagement Project.
